A handful of esports giants were making their way to the Philippine shore through the MPL Philippines.

Renowned for its Dota 2, Valorant and League of Legend teams, Team Liquid has finally entered the MLBB Esports scene after acquiring the sister franchises of ECHO in the Philippines and Aura in Indonesia.

“We have always admired the intensity and loyalty of fans in Indonesia and the Philippines, which we’ve experienced firsthand in esports events in the past,” said Victor Goossens, Co-CEO of Team Liquid in a statement.

“When we saw an opportunity to strengthen our presence in Southeast Asia with these incredible competitive teams, we knew we had to do it with an organization built with the same values and philosophy as our own. We found that partner in the staff and fans of AURA and ECHO,” he added.

ECHO, winner of the M4 World Championships, will now be called Liquid ECHO as they battle in the MPL Season 13 playoffs which begins on Wednesday, May 22.

Aside from Team Liquid, London-based and European circuit powerhouse Fnatic has also partnered Onic Philippines, the team announced on Tuesday, May 21.

It is the first foray of Fnatic to the MLBB Esports scene, adding to its array of teams in Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, and Counter Strike.

The move should also be a huge boost for Onic, which will now carry the name Fnatic Onic PH, in its current run in the MPL PH playoffs.

Likewise, already formidable on its own rights AP.Bren further strengthened its front after partnering with Saudi Arabian esports club Team Falcon.

Like Team Liquid and Fnatic, Team Falcon has been a force in the esports landscape with teams in Dota 2 and Counter Strike. The team however is no stranger to the MLBB scene unlike the two as they also had a team in the MPL Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Falcons APBren finished atop the MPL PH Season 13 standings, earning an outright spot in the upper bracket semifinals.
