First Lady's Lab for All program extends medical services to 2K patients

Over 2,000 registered patients in Olongapo City availed themselves of free medical services as First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos brought her Lab for All program to Subic on May 21.

In her speech during the event, the First Lady said the registered patients would receive medical services, grocery bags, hot meals, and beverages.

“This is in keeping with my husband’s mantra, when he said, ‘We should bring government services closer to the people and not the other way around,’” she said.

“So, in keeping with my husband’s promise, we will continue to conduct our medical missions, do minor surgeries, and provide access to different governemnt services,” she added.

The First Lady thanked the people of Olongapo for allowing her team and their partners to be of service.

“For all of you here, thank you for giving us a chance to be of service to you,” she said.

The Lab for All caravan offered laboratory tests, dental care, ECGs, surgeries, obstetrics and gynecology, and ophthalmology. In addition, free medicines, health screenings, assessment, and pregnancy-related services were also provided at the event.

Meanwhile, different services were also provided by different government agencies and private partners such as:

  • Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)
  • Pag-IBIG Fund
  • PhilHealth
  • Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
  • Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Public Attorney’s Office (PAO)
  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)
  • Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
  • Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
  • Department of Health (DOH)
  • GoNegosyo

 

According to the First Lady, they also distributed scholarship grants, reading glasses, and livelihood kits.

First Lady Liza likewise turned over a mobile van equipped with medical equipment to the City of Olongapo, courtesy of United Asia Automotive Group Inc., (UAAGI) Vice-Chairman Kenneth Sytin.

“Ang Lab for All program ay hindi lang tungkol sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo medikal (The Lab for All program is not just about providing medical services). It is about bringing services from other government agencies,” she said.
