Laica Pauline Uy, a former candidate of Miss Cebu 2023, ranked 9th in the May 2024 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination results.

Laica, who graduated Cum Laude from Velez College in Cebu, is now a topnotcher on the nursing exam with a rating of 90.20 percent.

She took the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand during her senior high school, which requires hospital immersion to graduate.

In college, she joined several student groups, was on the dance team, volunteered with non-profits, and actively participated in the student council.

Notably, she competed in the 2023 Miss Cebu pageant and won two minor awards, including "Most Confident."

“Your achievements speak not only of your capabilities but of your effort and dedication. We are so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished,” Arvie Uy, Laica's mother, proudly says.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on May 14, 2024, announced that 7,749 out of 11,116 examinees passed the Philippine Nurses Special Professional Licensure Examination held in May 2024.
