Romantic comedies are having a moment, and this one will steal the show. The Idea of You starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine is a romantic comedy that will make you squeal. It is based on the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee.

It’s about a 40-year-old woman in a relationship with a much younger pop star. Anne and Nicholas are eye candies, and their chemistry explodes out of the screen. The movie is steamy. It is hot. It is, in one Filipino word, “kilig.''

Some rom-coms can be considered light and bubbly. This one hits like the smoothest wine. And you’ll feel the hit of it as the movie progresses. It feels forbidden, but it’s not. It strips away and evens the playing field and tells everyone if men can date younger women, why can’t women and younger men be a thing, too?

It will show you the pros and cons, the hypocrisy and the logic. But most of all, it will show you romance. Whether you approve of the age difference or not, you will see a relationship most would die for.

And it will, judging from all the squeals in the audience last night, make you “kilig” to death. You can catch it as it comes out on May 2, only on PrimeVideos. So, if you’re not yet a member…it may be time to sign up. This is one show you, romantics, won’t want to miss.
