P3.2-M marijuana uprooted in Kalinga

TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – Police discovered marijuana worth P3 million in an eradication operation in Barangay Butbut here on Saturday, May 18.

Lawmen composed of the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga destroyed 16,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P3.2 million growing in two plantations.

Samples were taken to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

An investigation is underway to identify cultivators and adjacent areas are being searched for other plantations.
