Anti-kidnapping operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP-AKG) have arrested a former soldier for his alleged involvement in a kidnap-for-ransom activity in Pasay City in January this year.
PNP-AKG director Brig. Gen. Cosme Abrenica said suspect Alexander Sayson Anobling was arrested using an arrest warrant during an operation in Pasig City.
The arrest warrant is in connection with a case of kidnapping-for-ransom involving a 15-year old victim and his driver in Cartimar, Pasay City on Jan. 14. The victims were rescued by the AKG operatives on Jan. 15 in Tarlac.
The case is now pending before the Pasay City Regional Trial Court.
Anobling is now temporarily detained at PNP-AKG Detention Facility, for proper documentation prior to the return of the arrest warrant to the issuing court..
