From the streets of Olongapo to signing a record with Eminem and Dr. Dre, Filipino-American rapper Ez Mil embarks on the adventure of a lifetime.

Ez, whose real name is Ezekiel Miller, gets his music inspiration from his parents, who are also into music. Over the years, Ez has grown fond and passionate about different genres and has finally dabbled in rap music.

Before gaining the success he has today, Ez was not new to rejections and challenges when he moved to Las Vegas with his parents as a teenager. In one of his interviews with SoJannelleTV, the 25-year-old shared that it was a "culture shock" for him to move into a new place with new people.

"Some of the racial things, you just shrug it off, but day in and day out, it weighs on,” admitted Ez. “Always the first days in school, getting picked on. But I didn’t let that sway me. At the time, I just dealt with it because I was trying to make some friends," Ez said.

But despite all of it, he kept his head high and took a leap of faith with his music. In the likes of Tupac and Kendrick Lamar, Ez started to get creative and smart when creating his image in the music industry; after moving to the US, he began producing songs like "Hyperthermia" and "Lackland," which he considered his most intimate songs.

Showing no traces of giving up through his passion, Ez made his first viral song in 2020, "Dalawampu't Apat Na Bala (Bara) [24 Bullets(Bars)],'' but then things took a turn when he released "Panalo" in 2021.

Call it destiny, but Ez's life was never the same again after that. The song was blowing up all over social media platforms. Ez singing his song in English, Tagalog, and Ilocano was missing from everyone's bingo card then.

Gaining reactions and bashing from people all over the internet, it was safe to say that the song "Panalo" was Ez's baptism of fire, but that didn't stop him from reaching for his dream.

Working with Eminem and Dr. Dre

Good things come to those who wait, as other people might. What happened to Ez when signed under the Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records, owned by award-winning artists Eminem and Dr. Dre?

It was an overwhelming experience for Ez to work with the finest rappers in the music industry. During his press conference in Quezon City last July 2023, Ez shared how proud he is to represent his Pinoy roots with this opportunity.

"It's overwhelming; I'm super grateful to everyone very supportive of my music. Just the thought of coming home, man - a mixture of excitement and thrill that I can't shake off," he said.

Having signed Ez to his label, along with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope, Em can help push Ez to the same heights. Some of that work involved curating DU4LI7Y: REDUX, which will be Ez Mil’s final release on Virgin Music.

Being part of Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 List

This is another milestone indeed for Ez Mil, as he was named one of the seven Filipinos on the prestigious list.

Ez was included in the list’s section of ‘Entertainment & Sports‘ figures, alongside other beloved musical acts such as IVE, Atarashi Gakko!, Voice of Baceprot, and Mahalini Raharja.

In Forbes Asia’s profile section, the publication describes Miller as stated below:

“The rap talents of Ez Mil, real name Ezekiel Miller, caught the attention of legends Dr. Dre and Eminem — even if they couldn’t understand his Filipino lyrics. Ez Mil first attracted attention with his reflections on Philippine nationalism in the track “Panalo.” Still, last year’s “Up Down” brought him together with Dre and Eminem, with the latter performing on Ez Mil’s 2023 album “DU4LI7Y: REDUX.” Born in Olongapo, Ez Mil comes from a musical family and is now based in Las Vegas”

Ez expressed his gratitude to all the fans through his social media post: "Thank you @forbesasia for including me on your Class 2024 “30 Under 30” Entertainment & Sport Category list!"

Other Filipinos included artists Chia Amisola and Joshua Serafin, content creators Abigail Marquez and Ramon Christian “Arshie” Malaga, Backscoop co-founder Amanda Cua, and Parallax co-founder Mikaela H. Reyes.
