Last May 2, the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 153 found Cornejo, Cedric Lee, Simeon Palma Raz Jr. and Ferdinand Guerrero guilty beyond reasonable doubt of serious illegal detention for ransom of Navarro and sentenced them to reclusion perpetua.

She attended the promulgation of the decision and was immediately taken into custody by the police. She was taken to CIW on the same day.

Cornejo can accept visitors starting May 17 at the CIW Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) where she is currently confined for 60 days.

Corrections Senior Inspector Marlon Mangubat, head of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Public Information Office, previously said Cornejo can accept visitors after 15 days at the RDC. The 15th day was on May 16.

Raz, who was taken to the NBP RDC on May 2, can now also accept visitors.

All the four persons convicted by the Taguig court in the Navarro case are now in prison. Guerrero, who did not attend the promulgation, surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on May 16 and was taken to the NBP on May 17.

Reclusion perpetua carries imprisonment of “twenty years and one day to forty years,” according to the Revised Penal Code. It is different from life imprisonment.
