The fatality was identified as Leonila Maguate.

The woman’s 33-year-old son, Felix Jr., was injured in the attack.

After attacking the two victims, the suspect, Felix Rebanuel, 69, stabbed himself in the abdomen when pursuing police tried to arrest him.

The two Felixes were taken to the hospital.

According to the couple’s daughter Dindin, his parents had separated years ago but her father would still frequent their house.

Felix Sr. visited their house on Monday but the couple ended up arguing.

At the height of the argument, the suspect grabbed a bolo and hacked Leonila in the face and neck.

Felix Jr. tried to pacify his father but he was hacked in the head.

Jealousy was the reason why the former couple would argue.

Leonila decided to end the relationship after she was repeatedly accused of having an illicit affair.

She was reportedly threatened by her ex-husband that something bad would happen to her if he catches her having an affair with another man.
