The bus is equipped to perform free bilateral tubal ligation on women and non-scalpel vasectomy on men.
Family-planning commodities like pills, condoms, injectables, and intrauterine devices will also be given for free.
The mobile clinic will travel for 119 days to offer these free services in Central Luzon, Northern Luzon, Cordillera, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon, with the first stop being Binangonan where the demand for family planning services is high.
Next year, the mobile clinic will cover communities in the Visayas and Mindanao areas.
Denise van Dijk, board chairman of DKT Philippines Foundation, said: “The Sodex mobile clinic ensures that people who cannot access the reproductive health services they need in the public sector are not left behind and still have free access to these services. It is a part of a total market approach, complementing the important work the local LGUs do on a daily basis.”
