Sexagenarian dies from heat stroke


PUGO, La Union – A 63-year-old man died from heat stroke in Barangay Tavora Proper here over the weekend.

Police identified the victim as Carlos Espique.

Barangay Kagawad (councilor) Samuel Garcia said the victim was last seen watering plants at around 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.

Garcia visited Espique in his house at around 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, and saw him sprawled on the floor of the comfort room lifeless.

The victim was declared dead by Dr. Josanne Wadawadan de Castro, municipal health officer of Tubao.

She determined the cause of death as heat stroke.
