MORE Power has refunded 476 consumers from June 2023 until April 1, 2024.

This is stipulated in the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers which mandates power distribution utilities to refund deposits made by good-paying consumers for a period of three consecutive years.

MORE Power said there are still approximately 1,000 consumers in all districts – Arevalo, City Proper, Jaro, La Paz, Lapuz, Mandurriao, and Molo – who are eligible to be refunded. However, 1,000 consumers have yet to avail of the refund.

To inform eligible consumers, a notification is sent via the Statements of Account or Spot Bill and they are also reminded through phone calls or text messages.

“We are committed to ensuring that all eligible customers are aware of their entitlement to a bill deposit refund. Our proactive outreach aims to streamline the process and maximize the benefits for our valued consumers," said Maria Cristina Cabalhin, vice president of MORE Power for Customer Care.
