Around 2,000 elements of the Manila Police District (MPD) will be deployed in Manila due to the impending transport strike on April 29 to May 1.
According to MPD Spokesperson Maj. Philipp Ines, the MPD will implement security measures in areas such as Mendiola, United States Embassy, Intramuros and Welcome Rotonda.
He noted that there are four freedom parks in Manila where activists may stage protests.
The city will still follow the "No permit, no rally" policy, he added.
Ines said the Manila police anticipates the influx of protesters in celebration of Labor Day on May 1.
Motorists were advised of the possibility of heavy traffic along major roads in the city.
