3 killed in motorcycle-SUV crash


CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – Three persons died in a collision between two motorcycles and a Sports Utility Vehicle in Barangay Minante 1 here before dawn on Sunday, April 28.

Police identified the victims as Aurelio Cacot, driver of a Honda Click 125 motorcycle, and his back rider Richard Cacot, and Eddie Martin, driver of a Honda TMX motorcycle, all residents of Barangay Marasat Pequeño, San Mateo, Isabela.

Investigation said the SUV driven by Kim Cacayan, 24, a resident of Barangay Imelda Bliss Village, City of Ilagan, Isabela, suddenly occupied the lane and collided with the two motorcycles.

The victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

Police arrested Cacayan and faces charges of multiple homicides and property damage.

Lawmen said the cause of the accident was human error as Cacayan was fixing his seatbelt while driving the SUV and crashed into the two motorcycles.
