The local government released the announcement on Friday afternoon, April 26, declaring the class suspension in all levels in all public schools after the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRMMO) said a 44-degree Celsius heat index can be experienced in the city on Saturday.

The city government advised the schools to shift to any alternative learning modality.

Meanwhile, the suspension in private schools is at the discretion of their respective administrators.
