“The recent stop of PM Luxon of New Zealand to Jollibee reminded me how long it’s been since we’ve eaten there so . . . the FL Liza and I are having a delicious Jollibee dinner tonight,” Marcos wrote on April 21.

In its letter to the First Couple dated April 23, Jollibee thanked them for choosing the brand for their dinner.

"We are so delighted that you chose Jollibee and enjoyed a jolly delicious dinner. We wish to convey our sincere appreciation on behalf of the whole Jollibee organization. Thank you, Mr. President, and First Lady, for choosing joy," it wrote.

"As a token of our gratitude, please accept this humble gift — our Jollibee doll representing over 45 years of our journey — symbolizing our commitment to provide great-tasting food and to become a proudly-Filipino global brand," it added.
