Coins.ph, XD Academy bring bitcoin education to the country

Coins.ph has teamed up with XD Academy, a company that focuses on web3 and cryptocurrency learning and certification.

These past couple of weeks had been a whirlwind for those keeping an eye on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The trend from the bloodbath that was 2022 looks like it’s headed for greener pastures once more. There are many possible reasons why it’s starting to turn, it could be because of the approval of the bitcoin spot ETFs at US, which opened doors for new opportunities and the recently concluded bitcoin halving, an event that takes place once every four years where bitcoin miners’ rewards are slashed in half – theoretically the start of a surge in its value.

Now, there’s more to cryptocurrencies and web3 than these. And it is a lot. So, Coins.ph, a platform where it’s ridiculously easy to buy cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, partnering with a web3 educational platform is just on time for the potential upswing. Think of it as a way on how you can dip your toes in crypto while keeping yourself safe.

“With the Bitcoin Halving completed, there will be more demand for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies,” said Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph. “Since Coins is the leading source of Bitcoin in the Philippines, it’s important we provide users with world-class education to empower them as they navigate the cryptocurrency market.”

The education courses will include short-form content, starting with the exploration of the economics of bitcoin.

“As the author of the best-selling book The Bitcoin Standard, Saifedean Ammous has probably educated more people about bitcoin than anyone alive,” said Lawrence Linker, CEO of XD Academy. “We are very pleased to have him as an instructor for this introductory course on the economics underpinning bitcoin.”

Economics of Bitcoin will trace the history of money, exploring its earliest forms all the way to the fiat currency system we know today. From there, the course will dive into Bitcoin - its scarcity, limited supply and fungibility, as well as address broader implications of Bitcoin on the future of financial systems, and how it’s redefining money as we know it today.

The course will be available for all 18 million Coins users by May, marking a significant milestone in ensuring that every Filipino has access to world-class cryptocurrency education. The aim is to make learning about cryptocurrency accessible and engaging, utilizing formats that resonate with learners of all ages and at various stages of their cryptocurrency journey.
