The Beermen came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, draining a whopping 14 triples to set the tone in the dominant win that strengthened their bid for one of the two coveted twice-to-beat incentives in the playoffs.

When the dust settled at the end of the first half buzzer, SMB already lit up the scoreboard with 72 points to take a commanding 25-point lead in intermission.

The Beermen finished the contest with 18 triples with four players burying at least three treys.

Marcio Lassiter, who moved up to No. 4 in all-time three-point ladder and surpassed James Yap, led  SMB’s shooting clinic, burying three of his four triples in the first half to finish with 14 points.

CJ Perez also had four conversions from deep to power a monster performance of 29 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Simon Enciso and Don Trollano also chipped in three three-pointers each while Chris Ross nailed two.

Mo Tautuaa finished with 15 points while Trollano added 13. June Mar Fajardo missed on a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds through three quarters after resting the entire final frame.

The Beermen were simply on target offensively, reaching more than 30 points in the first three quarters to establish a lead that went to as high as 39 points. SMB even reached the 100-point mark with 4:02 left in the third frame.

NorthPort actually fought fire with fire against SMB after draining six treys in the opening frame but just couldn’t keep up with the Beermen’s firepower the rest of the way.

Arvin Tolentino tried to carry the fight for the Batang Pier with 26 points but it was not enough as they sank to their fourth straight defeat for a 4-5 record in the standings.
