Pangasinan folk affected by El Niño receive aid from Cayetanos


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Thousands of people in this province affected by the El Niño climate phenomenon received assistance from Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano during a four-day visit from April 15 to 18.

The Cayetanos joined hands with the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program to provide aid to recipients from Dagupan City, Alaminos, San Nicolas, Malasiqui, Bayambang, and San Carlos City.

SENATORS Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano provided assistance to people affected by El Niño climate phenomenon in Pangasinan.

Beneficiaries were ambulant vendors, “sari-sari” (community convenience) store owners, solo parents, and women in Dagupan City.

In Alaminos, the activity was facilitated by Mayor Bryan Celeste and benefited 1,000 individuals composed of senior citizens, solo parents, Persons with Disabilities, (PWDs), and indigents.

In San Nicolas, 1,000 farmers, women, and Indigenous People were beneficiaries.

A total of 1,800 small business owners from Malasiqui, Bayambang, and San Carlos City were beneficiaries and they were also received additional capital support from Rep. Maria Rachel J. Arenas.
