Choco Mucho braces for the upcoming semifinals when it clashes with also-ran Farm Fresh on Tuesday, April 23, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Already assured of one of the semis berths, the Flying Titans are using their 6 p.m. tussle with the Foxies as a warmup heading to the next round slated next week at the same venue.
The stalwarts of coach Dante Alinsunurin are also eager to finish the preliminaries on a high note and regain their composure after bowing to sister team Creamline last week that put them on a four-way tie at the helm with an 8-2 mark.
Still reeling from that said defeat, skipper Sisi Rondina said they are not taking this match any lightly.
“Nakita namin dun sa laro namin against Creamline na marami pa talaga kaming kailangang i-improve,” said Rondina.
“Back to the drawing board kami. Kailangang aralin namin kung ano yung mga naging lapses namin para mas ma-improve yung game namin,” she added.
Rondina is expected to be at the frontline of Choco Mucho’s assault along with Royse Tubino, Isa Molde, Maddie Madayag and Cherry Nunag as they also continue to navigate around the absence of opposite spiker Kat Tolentino due to an ongoing auditory condition.
“Siguro ngayon di pa namin alam kung makakabalik siya, pero yun nga pinapalagay na rin namin yung loob namin na baka hindi na siya makabalik talaga this conference," said Alinsunurin.
Farm Fresh, likewise, also seeks to end the season on a bright note and follow-up its three-set win over Strong Group that put them at 3-7.
Caitlin Viray and Trisha Tubu are expected to carry the fight for the Foxies along with Chinnie Arroyo.
Meanwhile, Capital1 and Nxled battle for pride in their 2 p.m. collision, with the Solar Spikers eyeing to hike their 1-8 tally and the Chameleons seeking to improve their 3-6 record.
