A woman was reportedly injured after a fire broke out in a commercial store in Paco, Manila on Saturday night, April 20.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the 23-year-old woman was immediately assisted by the personnel of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO).
MPD said the fire started in a two-story store with products made from light materials along Pedro Gil Street, Barangay 679 in Paco, at around 8 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was raised to the first alarm at 8:02 p.m. and escalated to the second alarm at 8:09 p.m.
The fire reached the third and fourth alarms at 8:22 p.m. and the fifth alarm at 8:37 p.m.
Firefighters put the fire under control at 10:28 p.m. and extuingished at 1:26 a.m. on Sunday, April 21.
Due to the intensity of the blaze, the 10-story building of Paco Catholic School (PCS) was partially affected.
PCS announced a suspension of face-to-face classes starting Tuesday, April 23. Classes will only be conducted online until further notice, it said.
Meanwhile, at least P15 million worth of property was reportedly damaged in the fire.
