“The testing dates can be done until April 5,” said Hernani Escular Jr., information officer of the Department of Education-6.

Several local government units (LGUs) in the region cancelled classes since Monday, April 1, due to temperature index reaching beyond 40 degrees Celsius.

These are the regional capital of Iloilo City as well as several areas in Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Capiz, and Guimaras.

The NAT here was scheduled on Tuesday, April 2.

“Testing will be done once the face-to-face classes return,” Escular said.

The DepEd-6 led by Dr. Ramir Uytico is consulting with the DepEd Central Office in Pasig City  on what measures will be taken if the heat wave and the cancellation of physical classes continue.
