"I'm finally going (to the military). Songpyeons [fandom name] who have loved me since my debut in 2017! I think I am who I am now because of you all. These days, many memories and time are passing by like a lantern,” he said, according to Dispatch.

He added, "I write a gratitude diary before I go to bed. There are a lot of things that I'm thankful for, because of my Songpyeons. Thank you for filling my 20s with meaningful times, such as birthdays and fan meetings."

"I won't be by your side for a little while, but time comes back quickly. Then, I'll see you again in person with a grateful and healthy heart. I'll see you in a happier state. I want to learn a new language. I will not let the one and a half years go to waste. I hope that my Songpyeons will also have a meaningful time, such as 'finding myself.’ We will always think of each other, and I will always be there. I will return healthily, safely, and happily. I love you. Always,” he said.

Song Kang will also serve as an active duty soldier for 18 months and will be discharged on Oct. 1, 2025.
