In just five years, designer Chris Nick has made significant strides in the fashion industry. Last week, he marked his 30th birthday alongside his muses and closest friends, celebrating not only another year but also his fifth year as a fashion designer.
“I always loved throwing birthday parties! I’ve been throwing themed birthday parties ever since I was a teen,” shares Chris, revealing that this year’s theme was “Chris Nick Black Tie.”
The evening started with a lavish ten-course dinner crafted by Chef Francis Tolentino at Taupe. “He is one of my very good friends, he constructed this menu a few months back and it’s quite an expressive and impressive menu — something very different from what he’s known for,” adds the designer.
Among the attendees were The Chris Nick Angels—Max Collins, Rhian Ramos, Michelle Dee, Sarah Lahbati, Coleen Garcia, Chie Filomen, Celeste Cortesi, LA Aguinaldo, Sam Versoza, Tim Yap Samantha Panlilio, Kyline Alcantara, Stephanie Dods, Vanna Garcia, to name a few. “Naturally all my friends, muses, and guests wore custom Chris Nick,” Chris remarks. The designer even orchestrated a glamorous photoshoot with the guests in the restaurant’s kitchen.
The festivities continued at Uma Nota at Shangri-la The Fort, hosted by Michael Needham. “It’s a Japanese–Brazilian inspired spot that has dinner service which then turns into an after-hours venue.” Brazilian street food, sushi, and Moët and Chandon were served.
Reflecting on the year ahead, Chris shares “I am excited for the year to come! Every year has so much to offer and I never really fear aging, it just gives me more authority and just gives me more power to do what I want, when I want.”
