De La Salle University (DLSU) was hailed as one of the world’s best higher education institutions in the 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in terms of eight academic subjects.
In a statement on Thursday, April 11, DLSU said it was the top university in the Philippines in the three subjects including Linguistics with a world ranking of 201-250; Modern Languages at a rank of 251-300; and Chemical Engineering at 401st to 430th.
DLSU was also the only Philippine university that placed in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at rank 501-530.
Among all private universities in the country, DLSU topped in Business and Management Studies with a world ranking of 401-450; in Economics & Econometrics at rank 401-450; in Computer Science & Information Systems at rank 651-700.
DLSU remained at its spot in the English Language & Literature subject at rank 201-250, as well as in Arts and Humanities, and Social Sciences and Management broad subject fields at 401-450 range.
“QS employs the following metrics to evaluate the subject rankings: Reputation indicators which are based on the responses of more than 240,000 employers and academics to QS surveys; Citations per Paper and H-Index which measure research impact and productivity; and International Research Network which assesses cross-border research collaboration,” DLSU said.
