Former first lady Imelda is 'feeling much better', on path to recovery—Marcos


Former first lady Imelda Marcos, who is still hospitalized due to pneumonia, "is feeling much better," President Marcos disclosed.

"My mother is feeling much better," Marcos said in a statement on Thursday night, March 7.

The President said he visited his mother on Wednesday night after arriving from Melbourne, Australia.

"She was awake, alert, and even up at midnight," he added.  

He also bared that the 94-year-old matriarch is on the path to recovery. However, they have decided to keep her in the hospital until she finishes her treatment.

"In consultation with her medical team, it has been confirmed that her fever is gradually subsiding, and she is on the path to recovery," Marcos said.

"We've decided to keep her in the hospital until she finishes her prescribed course of antibiotic treatment. This measure will also afford her the necessary rest and continuous medical supervision," he added.

The Chief Executive also thanked the public for their concerns and well-wishing during his mother's hospitalization.

The former first lady was hospitalized for close monitoring due to slight pneumonia, her daughter Senator Imee Marcos said on Tuesday, March 5.

On Thursday, the Palace belied reports that the former first lady has passed.
