Sibling drug pushers nabbed in Vigan City

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on Monday, March 5.

PDEA-Region 1 (Ilocos) Director Joel B. Plaza identified the suspects as Karen Joy C. Reduque, the Top 4 provincial drug priority target list, and her brother, Nikko Jay C. Reduque.

Seized from them were shabu and marijuana worth P74,000.

Karen Joy, the subject of the operation, was arrested in September 2022 and availed of plea-bargaining. However, she had been monitored to have returned to drug pushing.

Seized during the operation were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less two grams worth P14,000, four ziplock plastic bags containing suspected marijuana leaves weighing more or less 500 grams valued at P60,000, two mobile phones, three coin purses, a shoe box, a driver's license, drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money.

Suspects face drug-related charges and are detained at the PDEA-Region 1 detention facility here.
