Businessman knifed dead by ex-employee in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 66-year-old businessman was stabbed to death by a former employee here on Maundy Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Andres Maaliw Derota.

The victim and the suspect Christian, a former store helper,  accidentally met while walking and a heated argument erupted, during which the suspect took a knife from his pocket and attacked the victim. 

Derota ran away but the suspect caught up with him and Christian stabbed him several times in the body.

The suspect fled and the victim was taken to a hospital in this city where he died.

Police are pursuing the suspect who face appropriate charges.
