Go said the establishment of the section will expedite the examination of all intercepted and suspected fraudulent passports and other documents.

Magno said the laboratory will help the BI in thoroughly examining documents, streamlining the process and saving time in verifying the legitimacy of travelers' papers.

"This initiative will ease the burden of bringing the documents to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for verification," Magno said.

Go said the DIA-BI will also handle referrals of document verification from other airports in Mindanao.

Magno assured the BI that the OPAMINE will always be open for partnerships and coordination.

Also present during the event were BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, Anti-Fraud Section acting chief Marivic Beltrano, Verification and Compliance Division acting chief Lawyer Zaniah Siton, Ishikawa Yoshihisa of the Consulate General of Japan in Davao, Harya Sidharta of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao, Deputy Consul General of China in Davao Jin Jun, and Deddy Faisal of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao.
