DAVAO CITY – Vice President Sara Duterte and brothers Rep. Paolo Duterte and Mayor Sebastian Duterte joined the people in the Parada Dabawenyo, a culminating activity of the 87th Araw ng Dabaw, at the San Pedro Square here on Sunday, March 17.

The Duterte siblings interacted and shook hands with government officials, guests, and spectators during Parada Dabawenyo, one of the significant events of Araw ng Dabaw, a month-long festivity featuring talents and identities, music, food bazaars, and other community engagements.
The Vice President, who ranted a photo opportunity with spectators, urged the people to stay unified in their efforts to attain peace and progression. She said everyone should understand each other as everyone has the same goal and one direction for the country.
“We can see how numerous and diverse the people of Davao City are in our parade. But here, we can also see how organized and disciplined we are and how joyful our people are. This is our pride as Davaoeños,” Mayor Duterte said in the vernacular.
Mayor Duterte said that despite the difficulties and challenges faced by the people, they could stand and overcome them and continue to rise because they are resilient, united, and strong.
“Let’s always remember that we are Davaoeños because we are united despite our differences in ethnicity and regardless of our varying religion or origins,” the city mayor said as he thanked everyone for abiding by the laws city ordinances for everyone’s welfare.
Rep. Duterte encouraged everyone to continue caring for this city to enable it to become more progressive and beautiful in the years to come.
He and his son, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, thanked the people of here for their endless support to the Duterte family and for all their efforts in keeping the city peaceful and progressive.
This year’s Araw ng Dabaw was secured by over 8,000 security personnel, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) said.
This year's Araw ng Dabaw has the theme “Dabawenyo D.C. Plinado” which underscores how the people contributed to the success of this city.
