2 gang members yield P170K illegal drugs in Malate buy-bust

Two gang members were arrested after yielding around P170,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Malate, Manila on Friday, March 15.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspects as alias "Boss," 28, a member of BCJ Gang; and alias "Jeff," 41, a member of Bahala Na Gang, both residents of Malate.

Cortez said his team is still establishing the identities of possible accomplices of the suspects in the illegal activity.

Police said the suspects were arrested on Asuncion Street in Barangay 721 at 9:45 p.m. on Friday.

According to the report of Lt. Col. Nelson Cortez, MPD Malate Station commander, the Malate-Station Drug Enforcement Unit was able to confiscate seven packages of suspected shabu weighing 26 grams.

Police said suspects are facing charges for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They are now detained in the custodial facility of Malate Police Station.
