“I would like to provide an update on the proceedings and clarify certain aspects of the legal process,” PRO 4-A Director Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said in a statement.
“We, in the Police Regional Office Calabarzon, remain committed to ensuring justice is served and will continue our thorough investigation into the case,” Lucas said.
The ruling, in no way, undermines the dedication of the men and women of this regional office in building a strong case against the suspects. We will diligently gather appropriate evidence and work towards re-filing the case of destructive arson against the accused, Lucas added.
“We respect the legal proceedings while maintaining our dedication to uncovering the truth behind this arson incident. We will observe legal process while coordinating with the private lawyer of the owner of the passenger minibus and will seek the assistance of the prosecution with their pro-active involvement in case build-up as specified in the Department of Justice Circular No. 020, Series of 2023.”
“We urge the public to have confidence in the legal system and the ongoing efforts of the PNP to bring those responsible for the arson to justice,” Lucas said. "We will keep the public informed of any significant developments in this case and remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and security of our community."
