Kindred champions women’s health

Kindred is the first medical care provider in the Philippines that specializes in women’s health

Founded in 2021 by medical practitioners and healthcare entrepreneurs, Kindred is the first medical care provider in the Philippines that specializes in women’s health. Coming together as kindred spirits, Filipino nurse and femtech pioneer Jessica De Mesa and healthcare entrepreneur Abetina Valenzuela teamed up to offer the first hybrid, online-to-offline (O2O) women’s health care solution in the Philippines.

What came about is the establishment of Kindred. It is an all-in-one destination for all things women's health that provides a safe, no-judgment space, as well as comprehensive plans of care and treatment through a collaborative care model. It offers a full spectrum of health care and wellness services and products designed for every woman in every step of her health journey.

Whether virtually or at their physical clinic in Serendra, BGC, Kindred offers general OBGYN, endocrinology, nutrition and dietetics, dermatology, doctor consultation, and treatment packages with seamless access to doctors.

In July 2023, the startup secured $1 million in seed funding. The funding round was participated in by KSR Ventures, Tenco Capital Holdings, Pawikan Capital Group, Pulse63 Healthcare Ventures, and Kaya Founders. The fund was intended for the expansion of its offline clinics, launch new women-centric services in line with its patient demands, invest in marketing initiatives, and capacity building for its team.

“Our objective is to reshape the healthcare landscape for women by empowering patients, connecting them with specialized professionals, and providing personalized care plans that foster a more compassionate and efficient system,” said Kindred CEO and co-founder Jessica De Mesa.

At Kindred, women are connected with specialists where they can learn about pregnancy, fertility, sexually transmitted infections, birth control, menstruation, miscarriages, menopause, and even Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS, and wellness support.
