Because of their history, France and Germany share a particular sense of responsibility in promoting and defending human rights. On the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, France and German embassies launched "The Franco-German Human Rights gathering," a regular conversation in which the first session took place last Feb. 15. By creating a space that allows free speech, with respect, benevolence, and where no subject is taboo, the Franco-German gathering aims to foster dialogue and understanding between the actors of the field of Human Rights.
