The Department of Tourism-National Capital Region (DOT-NCR) Regional Director Sharlene Batin announced her support for Las Piñas tourism during her attendance at the Gala Night of the 49th Bamboo Organ International Festival on Feb. 22.
According to Paul Ahljay San Miguel, head of the Tourism and Cultural Office, Batin was joined by her Tourism Officers II, Ivanovich Agote and Gergorio Limpin, and the Association of Tourism Officers in NCR during the event organized by the Bamboo Organ Foundation Inc.
San Miguel said the foundation, organizing the yearly festival is a group of endeavors that preserves and maintains the Bamboo Organ and is also involved in the education and spiritual enrichment of the people.
Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar was happy to learn about the announcement of Batin in supporting the Las Piñas tourism as it will be a big help in promoting the city’s rich cultural heritage to both local and foreign tourists.
Aguilar was happy with the report of San Miguel and said that Batin was delighted with the beautiful sound of the Bamboo Organ played by international artists, which she also said was considered a Philippine National Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines on November 24, 2023.
