United Airlines has officially launched its first flight from Tokyo Narita to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
The United Airlines flight landed on Sunday night, Oct. 27, marking an addition to American airline services in the Philippines.
The airline was welcomed with a water cannon salute, a customary gesture for inaugural flights.
The new daily service departs MCIA at 9:30 a.m. and arrives in Tokyo Narita at 3:15 p.m. The return flight leaves Tokyo Narita at 5:30 p.m. and arrives back at MCIA at 10:05 p.m.
United operates the Narita-Cebu route with a Boeing 737-800, which has 166 seats, including 16 in business class.
This launch comes after United Airlines began its first flight between Manila and San Francisco in October of last year.
