PBBM urged to retain Cebu Port Authority head

The Philippine Coastwise Shipping Association (PCSA) urged President Marcos to retain the current leadership in the Cebu Port Authority (CPA).

In a letter sent to Marcos, PCSA chairman Lucio Roger Lim explained that CPA General Manager Francisco Comendador II has been effective in addressing various challenges and concerns in the port operation in Cebu.

Comendador started as head of the Cebu Port Authority on July 13 last year.

“In that span of time, we were able to measure his compassion in the management of the CPA and addressing the various challenges it has been facing,” the letter signed by Lim read.

He said that retaining the CPA leadership will be beneficial for the clients of the Cebu Port Authority due to his experience as local official of Cebu for several years.

“His management skill, especially in the human resource sector, is vital in port administration. He has also experience in the private sector, since he was previously employed in the management in one of the port stakeholders previously operating with CPA which exposes him to essential port operations,” said Lim.
