A Pasay City court has ordered the release of actress Neri Naig-Miranda from detention, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
BJMP spokesperson Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said they received the order on Wednesday from the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 for the release of Miranda who is facing syndicated estafa.
Bustinera said Miranda is still in the hospital where she was taken for medical evaluation at around 8 p.m. on Nov. 29 as directed by the same court.
Earlier, Bustinera explained that Miranda will remain in the undisclosed hospital for “not more than five days’’ and will be released from the health facility after completing the lawful process, explaining that “we have to conduct verification for pending cases and warrant.’’
“As soon as cleared na, we will release (Miranda) (As soon as everything is cleared, we will release),’’ Bustinera said.
Police served the arrest warrant on Miranda last week. She was later taken to the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory.
