Pasay BFP issues safety tips for peaceful celebration of New Year

The Pasay City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) issued nine safety tips to avoid any untoward incidents during the celebration of New Year.

The nine safety tips listed by the BFP were: Ensure the Christmas lights are with Philippine Standard (PS) and Import Community Clearance (ICC) sticker that serve as the consumer’s guide and assurance that what they purchase are certified quality and safety products; turn off the lights when family is on vacation; maintain their kitchen clean; check the appliances; while cooking don’t leave it unattended; stay alert for possible emergencies; avoid socket overloading and must know emergency number of nearest fire stations in their place.

The Pasay BFP, led by Fire Supt. Mariano Taguiam, also conducted an “Oplan Paalala-Iwas Paputok” motorcade on Dec. 1 with the theme “Pag iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa” to ensure safety celebration of Christmas and New Year.

The BFP said 22 fire trucks from Pasay City Fire Volunteer and Brigade, two ambulances, mobile from the Pasay City Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and  Pasay Traffic Management Office (TPMO) joined in the motorcade in reminding residents.
