President Marcos has enjoined Filipinos to support the 10 films that are part of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), saying this year's entries offer "golden lessons" that reflect the Filipino story.
In a video message played as part of the ads before the screening of MMFF movies in cinemas, the President said the festival has been part of the Filipino culture.
"Ngayong Kapaskuhan, bibidang muli ang mga kwento ng ating lahi. Dahil ito sa espesyal na selebrasyon na ika-50 taon ng Metro Manila Film Festival na bahagi na ng ating buhay at kultura bilang Pilipino (This Christmas, the stories of our heritage will shine anew. This is because of the special 50th-anniversary celebration of the MMFF, which has been part of our lives and culture as Filipinos)," he said.
"Isama ang buong pamilya, buong barkada, at panoorin ang sampung pelikula na handog ng MMFF (Bring your whole family and your friends and watch the 10 movies offered by the MMFF)," he added.
Marcos said this year's 10 entries offer not only entertainment but also life lessons.
"Ang mga magagandang pelikulang kalahok ngayon ng Golden Year ng MMFF ay siguradong magbibigay ng gintong saya at mag-iiwan ng mga ginintuang aral (The wonderful films participating in this Golden Year of the MMFF are sure to bring golden joy and leave valuable lessons)," he said.
"Tangkilikin po natin ang kwentong Pilipino. Suportahan po natin ang (Let's celebrate Filipino stories. Let's support the) Metro Manila Film Festival 2024," he added.
The MMFF is an annual showcase of Filipino films during the Christmas season. The movies are screened in cinemas nationwide from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7.
