BACOLOD CITY – This city recently turned over a completed Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino housing building to recipients here.
This city was the first local government unit in the country to turn over such project.
Mayor Albee Benitez led the turnover of Building 1 of the Asenso Yuhum Residences in Barangay Arao.
Buyer-beneficiaries of Building 1 are the first to occupy units under the program.
Documentation is underway for additional beneficiaries slated to receive units in Buildings 2, 3, and 4.
The 4PH program launched under the Marcos administration aims to address the nation’s housing backlog.
Officials said Bacolod’s milestone demonstrates its commitment to provide affordable and sustainable housing for its people.
The project, a public-private partnership, was led by the Bacolod Housing Authority under Maria Victoria Parrenas and private sector partner WRS Holdings Consortium that includes Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. and RS Realty Developers Inc.
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development under Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar provided subsidies to reduce the cost for beneficiaries and show its commitment to equitable access to quality housing.
The Home Development Mutual Fund led by president Marilene Acosta also contributed by extending development loans and fast-tracking documentation to ensures seamless transition for beneficiaries into their new homes.
Benitez said the project represents Bacolod’s drive to become a super city. "By combining innovation, collaboration, and a focus on uplifting lives, Bacolod is setting the standard for urban housing development in the Philippines," he said.
