Marcos signed Republic Act (RA) No. 12115 on Dec. 20.

Based on the law, Korovin is granted Philippine citizenship with all the rights, privileges, prerogatives, duties, and obligations of being a Filipino citizen.

Korovin shall take his Oath of Allegiance to the country before an officer duly authorized to administer such.

His Oath shall be registered with the Bureau of Immigration (BI). Upon registration, the BI shall issue a Certificate of Naturalization to Korovin, who "shall thereupon enter into full enjoyment of Philippine citizenship."

In February, Korovin vowed to give his "100 percent" every time he trains and competes for the Philippines.

“I give it all because I know what I’m fighting [for] and representing the Philippines and the Filipino people," he told the House Committee on Justice panel.

"I want to bring pride and honor to the Philippines and the Filipino people. The Philippines is such a great country and the people are even much better," he added.

Korovin and his Filipina partner Isabella Gamez have won titles in international competitions since they paired up in 2021.
