The Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory (QCJFD) of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has conducted programs that promote the well-being of its personnel and address the growing mental health challenges in the communities.

The QCJFD stated that it recently held a "Mental Health Awareness Lecture" to equip BJMP personnel with the essential knowledge and tools to recognize, understand and manage mental health challenges both in themselves and others.

With a total of 57 personnel participating in the session, the BJMP explained that the lecture sought to build resilience and enhance coping skills for managing high-stress situations common in their line of duty.

The lecture was led by Dr. Rochell-Mae L. Detera and health workers from the Krus na Ligas Health Center in Quezon City.

QCJFD warden Chief Insp. Lourvina L. Abrazado thanked the Quezon City Health Department for its continued partnership and support in advancing mental health awareness within the jail facility.

She also commended the Quezon City government for continuing to empower its citizens through the Small Income Generating Assistance (SIGA) program, providing P5,000 in cash assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

Under the program, Abrazado noted that two recently-released persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were among the hundreds of "QCitizens" who benefited from the program.

Abrazado explained that the initiative is part of the Quezon City government’s "No Women Left Behind" program and the After-Care Program of the QCJFD which aims to aid the released PDLs be reintegrated into the society by providing financial assistance for business capital.
