The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported that the incident occurred at around 4:15 a.m.

The impact left the taxi’s front severely damaged with its windshield shattered and bumper detached.

Four concrete barriers, two plastic barriers, and a traffic sign in the busway were also damaged during the incident.

Traffic enforcers said that the taxi driver complained of chest pain and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the taxi had no passengers at the time of the incident.

The overturned vehicle blocked the busway, disrupting carousel bus operations and causing heavy traffic congestion on the Quezon Avenue flyover.

It took personnel from the MMDA Road Emergency Group about an hour to remove the vehicle and clear the area.

Meanwhile, investigators are working to determine whether a vehicle malfunction or other factors contributed to the accident.

Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution, adhere to traffic rules, and ensure proper maintenance of their vehicles to prevent similar incidents.
