The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) awarded a grand total of P1.5 million in prizes to 300 members and pensioners during its annual Christmas raffle draw.
GSIS reported that a total of P1.5 million was distributed, with 210 active members and 90 pensioners each receiving P5,000.
Wick Veloso, GSIS president and general manager, said the event was beyond a traditional raffle as it was conducted digitally.
“It’s a step toward GSIS’s digital transformation. We are not only making our services more accessible through the GSIS Touch app but also spreading happiness this Christmas season to our valued members and pensioners,” Veloso said.
Veloso also emphasized GSIS’s digital shift, noting that 98 percent of its services are now digital, with 70 percent accessed through mobile phones and 30 percent through kiosks.
As per GISIS, “the prizes will be directly credited to the winners’ GSIS eCard accounts, with notifications sent via their registered mobile numbers.”
The GSIS Touch and Win Christmas Raffle is part of the GSIS’s efforts to promote the GSIS Touch app, a digital platform aimed at enhancing convenience and efficiency.
“Participants automatically earned entries by downloading and registering on the app, with additional chances gained through app-based transactions such as loan applications and compliance with the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR),” the government-owned corporation said.
The Touch app, which was launched in 2020, now serves over 1.6 million users, offering convenient access to membership and pension records, loan applications, claims tracking, premium monitoring, and secure biometric logins.
“Through this initiative, we not only embrace digital innovation but also celebrate the continued support of our members and pensioners. It’s our way of giving back and ensuring their Christmas is a little brighter,” Veloso concluded.
