House Deputy Speaker Las Piñas City lone district Rep. Camille Villar recently inaugurated the electric vehicle (EV) charging facility at Vista Mall Bataan as a way to highlight her advocacy for sustainability and environmental protection.

"Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility. We should all work together to keep our world green and work doubly harder to sustain our gains. Every small step matters," Rep. Villar said in a statement.

The aspiring senator was joined during the ribbon cutting ceremony by her father, former Senate President Manny Villar; Bataan Governor Joet Garcia, Rep. Abet Garcia, Rep. Jette Nisay of the Pusong Pinoy party-list, and Balanga Mayor Francis Garcia.

The EV charging facility features a 40 kilowatt (kW) fast charger donated by Han Cars, and a Level 2 7.3KW charger provided by BYD. Both are available for free use.

The charging stations are located at the mall's Level 1 parking ground.

Vista Mall Bataan installed the electrical provisions for the facility and put up the charger booth, enclosure, and dedicated parking slot.

The initiative aims to expand the network of EV charging stations across the province and supports 1Bataan's sustainability program.

Rep. Villar is a director of Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc., which owns Vista Land Bataan.
