A construction worker wanted in Sorsogon City for homicide was arrested by members of the Las Piñas City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section on Sunday, Dec. 15 in Bacoor, Cavite.

Las Piñas City Police Chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspect as “Erickson,” 48. He was arrested at around 9:50 a.m. in Habay 2, Manggahan Bukid.

He said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Honesto Villamor of Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 52, with bail recommended of P440,000.

Tafalla said the suspect went into hiding for 20 years after committing a crime in Sorsogon in September 2004, where he stabbed a man several times during a fight with a group of men he and his brother-in-law encountered while on their way home. The suspect then went into hiding in Cavite.

The suspect is currently detained at the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility, pending the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
