Rainy Medina couldn't be more excited for the brand-new 2025 season after gaining much attention in just his rookie year.
Fresh from a fruitful stint in the 2024 Seaoil Radical Challenge including the SR1 Class title last month, the 23-year-old Medina remains hungry as he eyes more podium finishes in his second year as a professional racer.
“In 2025, you can expect me to come back stronger, faster, and more determined than ever. I’m building on everything I learned in my 2024 season and aiming for even bigger achievements,” said Medina. “My focus will be on competing at the highest level, taking calculated risks, and showing the growth I’ve worked so hard for,” he added. “Fans can expect more exciting races, tighter battles, and hopefully, more trips to the top step of the podium.”
One of Medina’s priorities is his physical health which he continues to develop through his endurance workouts, running, hiking, rock climbing, strength training, and reaction drills – activities that can help bring out the best in him.
Medina visualizes every situation ahead of his races. He conditions his brain to stay focused while being calm and collected under immense pressure. He even listens to the music of AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, and Van Halen.
And with the help of these routines and the guidance of coach Don Pastor, who always reminds him the importance of trusting the process, Medina is a different beast in his young age.
“2024 was a whirlwind of growth and learning for me. One of the biggest lessons was the importance of consistency—not just in lap times but in mindset and preparation,” said the two-time racing champion Medina.
“I also realized how crucial patience is. Throughout my time racing, my only mission was to make it to the front of the pack as fast as possible,” he added. “This season, I learned how important proper timing and execution was.”
“Heading into the next season, I’m focusing on refining my racecraft, improving my decision-making under pressure, and continuing to work on the small details that make a big impact over the course of a championship,” Medina continued.
Medina also has a message to aspiring racers who want to enter the grid, noting that they must believe in themselves and never stop grinding toward their goals.
“It took me 2 years of consistent work on my craft and self-marketing. The journey won’t be easy or cheap. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but it’s all part of the process,” said Medina.
