A total of 1,665 police personnel will be deployed by the Eastern Police District (EPD) to ensure the public's safety and security during the Yuletide season as part of its "Ligtas Kapaskuhan 2024" program.
EPD OIC Col. Villamor Tuliao said he has directed all police officers from the Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City Police Stations and DMFB to conduct aggressive information drives on the modus operandi of criminals in their respective areas of responsibilities in order to raise public awareness and prevent the occurrence of crimes during the festivities.
He also mandated all EPD policemen to intensify intelligence monitoring against probable threats, enhance police presence in areas of convergence and other tourist destinations, focus law enforcement operations against identified repetitive offenders, strengthen target hardening of vital installations, sustain and improve community engagement and partnership with stakeholders, to continuously conduct simulation exercises, the firm conduct of red teaming, and to establish solid offensive stance.
"These strategies aim to curb crimes in Metro-East as major events and holidays are fast approaching," Tuliao said.
The EPD will use the Tech Based Policing System which is a modern and significant way of preventing and solving crimes.
