This year's donations, which came from the pizza restaurant chain’s Shakey’s Super League bundle promo, surpassed the previous amounts of over P11.3 M last year and over P8 M in its inaugural year.

“We're very happy that we can continue to support the sport of volleyball. We're very happy to see it grow. We're very happy to see the popularity of the sport,” said Shakey’s general manager Oliver Sicam who led the formal turnover of the checks to the respective schools.

“Shakey’s Super League, this is our third full season in which we're able to bring in the NCAA and the UAAP into one pre-season tournament. We're very happy with that because Shakey’s is really all about bringing people together and bringing communities together,” he added.

Arellano University emerged as the biggest recipient this year with a donation amounting over P1.7 M followed by Jose Rizal University which had over P900,000 donations.

San Beda University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Colegio de San Juan de Letran and College of St. Benilde all received over P800,000 while University of the Philippines, Ateneo, Adamson, Mapua and San Sebastian all had over P700,000.

The 2024 SSL champion National University and runner-up La Salle each had over P600,000 along with UST, University of Perpetual Help DALTA, and Lyceum while both FEU and University of the East received over P500,000.

Aside from the incentives, Sicam also hinted at a bigger and brighter 2025 season for SSL as Shakey’s is also celebrating its 50th anniversary in the country next year.
